Flowers, love, and a very vivacious toddler!

This little munchkin is growing right up. She is our little mockingbird. She repeats EVERYTHING we say. She is a wiz at remembering names- she gets that from her dad- not me!

She learned how to crawl out of her crib last week and sleep has been interesting- to say the least. Naps she does okay but she hasn't slept in her crib since she figured it out. We have tried laying down the law and make her stay in her room instead of sleeping with us so we have found her asleep on the floor in her bedroom and outside our door. It's my goal to get her crib turned into a toddler bed this week. We have introduced the "princess potty" she has experimented with it- but nothing too significant. I'm not going to push it with her. I figure she'll get it on her own eventually but I don't have a week or two to really enforce it! So- we'll see what happens! She still has a binky and drinks from a bottle at times. I have received a little flack about it but I really could care less! I'd rather have her have those than suck on her thumb- so I'll be patient about taking them away for good. However, she is getting old enough that it does look ridiculous if she has either in public- so we limit it to naps and bedtime.......and for much needed peaceful moments at home. As I write this....she is quietly on the couch with a binky in her mouth watching cartoons!

We ask her what her name is and she'll say "Hayden!" Then we ask her what her other name is and she says, "Millie!" She still answers to both- friends and family have pretty much settled on what they want to call her- her parents still don't know! Ha ha- lately I have pretty much been calling her 'Mill'- but still bring out Hayden every once in a while- her dad still resorts to hun, honey, sis, and hey you! I'm kinda curious to see as she grows up and starts school- what she will want to be called! She still calls us Megan and Colby at times- and she thinks it is soooo funny when she does it!

She can count to ten and loves to do it. She knows her M's, H's, R's, A's and what they "say" but her favorite letter is still W. She can pick it out anywhere and on anything! Her favorite thing to watch on TV lately is Popeye. Colby and I have an aversion to the newer cartoons so we are happy that she finds Popeye and other old ones (including black and whites) on Netflix.

She is a busy body- she constantly asks if we can go to the park, or the store, or in the car. The other day she had been begging to go to the park for a while and then she popped off, "Text Lainey, Mom!" It caught me completely off guard! How does she know to text Lainey?

We were finally able to make it to Delta for one of Dylan's birthdays! It only took us 4 tries to make it happen....... I needed a dentist appointment and was enjoying my break from school!

Mill loves to go to Activity Day's with me- she calls them "the girls." She had so much fun this last week going "swimming in the water with the girls!" I never want to be released from this calling- it is the BEST!!

The 24th and more....

Now that I am officially done with my absolute LAST summer semester EVER (woot woot)- I can take a moment and catch up..... My camera hasn't (unfortunately) been a fixed accessory for me this summer- instead, my stethoscope and otoscope have been. However, big occasions call for its appearance. Like the Pioneer Day celebration in Hinckley

Grandma Marlene dominates at picking up candy! Russ and Colby come in a close 2nd and 3rd...

Lil Miss did not want to put her candy in the bag- she wanted to keep it in her arms and shove it in her mouth- wrapper and all...

Dax got to ride in the parade with Grandpa Dale- He thought that was pretty cool.

Grandma and girls- I love this pic!

It is starting to become tradition for all the great-grandkids to ride Grandpa Dale's horse after the parade. They all love it! Even I joined in the fun.

I am loving the weather lately- magical rainstorms and breath-taking sunsets....Millie keeps saying, "Hear that? Hear that thunder?" Even if the skies are blue!

Right now, we are enjoying the "wimpics" (as the little one says it) or in other words- the Olympics. I love to watch gymnastics and volleyball- Colby just loves it all- and Hayden's favorite is "the boys jumping in the water" (the diving and synchronized diving). She gets super mad when it goes to commercial when they are on- it's pretty funny!

Here are some of the fun Instagram photos from the summer....

Also- in June- Colby and I went on a mini getaway to Salt Lake- we went and ate at The Roof, toured Temple Square, did sealings at the Draper Temple, and shopped at City Creek. It was nice to have a moment to ourselves and are grateful to our parent's who are always willing to babysit so we can get out!

This summer has been crazy busy but we have still been able to have some fun! Some great news from this summer- Colby passed his LPT exam (which is kinda like the LPN for nurses)! So he gets to start working PRN in the radiology department as soon as his license shows up. He has started his clinicals for fall semester already but we're looking forward to getting this next school year over with. Although we still have a while till Colby is completely done with school, if we can make it through this next year we will be happy! Between both of us having clinicals several days a week, working part-time, school work, church callings, and being parents, this year is destined to FLY by! We remain optimistic that our sanity will be intact come May 2013........we are just glad that Millie is too young to remember the chaos! We love where we are at in life and have no regrets about the decisions we have made to finish our educations despite the poverty that associates it! Haha- With that being said- we SOOOO look forward to the day that we can have some normalcy!
Here's to facing fall head on......
