We got our "ECLIPSE" on tonight!
Colby, unfortunately had to work so Millie and I ventured out in the car to see what all the hype was about. According to some smart scientists, Kanaraville which is just a few miles south of Cedar, was the absolute best location in the entire world to view the annual solar eclipse that was tonight! Iron county was expecting 40,000 plus visitors coming to see it- I really believe there were that many. We drove out to Kanaraville to see the spectacle- there were cars lined along the road for miles, campers parked, and people with their big high tech telescopes or cheap sunglasses gazing at the sun!
Although Kanaraville was probably a great place to view it, we aren't big on crowds so we went back to Cedar and parked at the church behind our house. We were a little slow on purchasing the special glasses needed for viewing- luckily Colby found out that x-ray film works just as good! So he snagged us a couple pieces! Sister new exactly what she was doing!
She got bored of me sitting on the grass so she tried going into the locked church- this kid loves church! Then she entertained herself with the phone.
These are the shots I got with with my camera- I don't have a lens with a lot of zoom so this is the best I could get! I wanted to get progressive shots.
These two kiddos talk about each other constantly! I'm so blessed to have such good friends that look after my little girl when we can't-
Yesterday Karen took Millie and her girls Lainey and Tenley out to her parents house and my child thought it was really fun to drench herself and Lainey in ice cold water!
Yesterday morning Colby took us out to see this- I can't believe I have lived in Cedar for 5 1/2 years and have never been here! It's called 2000 flushes- it may or may not be private- we didn't see any postings but we didn't stay there long!
Friday we made a quick trip up to Delta to meet Drex cause he was finally able to go home from the hospital. One of Millie's favorite things about going to Delta is the horses!
We had a lazy Mother's Day cause I worked the night before- Colby and Millie went to church and then he cooked me dinner. I wanted to get a pic of me and the special girl who made me a mom! I'll always be grateful to her for that! Then on Monday- she finally went and got her 2 year check up. She was so brave and just sat up on the exam table and let them do her blood pressure and check her all out.
This is Layne- his mom is also another one of my lifesavers! These two get to play a couple days a week cause his mom has school and Colby and I have an overlap with our work/clinical schedules.
Kinley (Bree and Cory Jensen's little girl) came and played for a day and she was just an angel!
Life is busy- but not too busy to make memories!
I forgot to add this last night! But I am the Activity Day's leader and a couple weeks ago we had a "T" party for the girls and their moms! We played a game where they had to come with as many gospel words that begin with the letter T. Then they made little tea party hats and I asked the mom to write their testimony to give to their girls! It was really fun!
